WATSONVILLE — Watsonville Police are investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital with two gunshot wounds.

According to Watsonville Police Sgt. Michael Ridgway, when officers responded to a call of a shooting in the area of Walker Street and West Lake Avenue at about 5 p.m. Saturday, they found a 37-year-old man at the old train depot parking lot with a wound to his hand and chest.

The victim said he was confronted by an unknown gunman in a dark colored sedan.

The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene and later taken to a local trauma center with non-life-threatening wounds.

Investigators believe the shooting is gang-related. The suspect remains at large.
