WATSONVILLE — A man was taken to a trauma center Tuesday afternoon after being stabbed in a suspected gang attack.

Watsonville Police officers responded to a call of a stabbing on Dolores Avenue at about 3:30 p.m.

When they arrived they located a male suffering from several life-threatening stab wounds to his torso. 

The victim said he was at Franich Park when two suspects approached and asked about his gang affiliation. They then attacked him by punching and stabbing him, according to Watsonville Police Sgt. Jarrod Pisturino.

The suspects were last seen running toward East Lake Avenue.

The victim was unable to provide a detailed statement or suspect description because of his injuries, Pisturino said.

Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate any witnesses to the crime.

The suspects were described as an Hispanic male wearing a black T-shirt and beanie and an Hispanic man wearing a white T-shirt.
