At the Feb. 11 PVUSD Board meeting, trustee Gabe Medina was banned from the PV High campus for 14 days. It was a great example of deflecting the charges to blaming others for not doing enough, a practice that trustee Medina has done for the last year while on the Board.

The facts are that he and the Brown Berets came onto the PV High campus, did not register at the office and proceeded to interject themselves into a peaceful, on-campus walkout by students and then led some of them into Watsonville. The staff had organized this student walkout with the students to stay on the campus.

An altercation ensued when the principal asked trustee Medina and the Brown Berets to leave the campus. Medina went face-to-face with the Principal, yelling at him, spitting on him, and threatening to have him fired. The principal threatened to call the police but did not. Many of the staff witnessed this and filed a complaint with the pistrict. Trustee Medina and the Brown Berets then led some of the students off campus towards Watsonville. Many of the students did not make it to downtown.

There was great discussion during the board meeting Feb. 11th.  There was a desire by the Board, Trustee Medina and the public to have mediation rather than exclusion. This would not work because trustee Medina would not admit that he had done anything wrong. Instead he blamed everyone else. I would recommend that you view the event through the PVUSD website on their youtube video.

Trustee Medina for over a year has provoked/instigated situations and then claimed to be the victim. This is one of those instances. There are many more where he has attacked fellow trustees, bringing them to tears. He seems to have difficulties with strong females. He will never admit that he was wrong. In the old days we would say that he would not man up to what he had done wrong.
