Michelle Makiba Cruse (neé Miller) passed away on October 20, 2018.  She was born August 31, 1971 in Watsonville, CA to Leroy and Sandra Miller (Adams), the first born of two children.

Raised in Watsonville, Michelle attended local schools in the area.  She graduated in the top 10 percent of her class.  Michelle attended Scripts College in Southern California and obtained her B. A. in Psychology.  She received her Master’s Degree in Sociology this year and was pursuing her Ph.D.  Her aim was to open a non-profit agency to help the underprivileged.

In 1999 she married Orland Jay Cruse, Jr.

Michelle was a teacher in Watsonville and later moved to Salinas to teach school there. Her last employer was Anyone Home Inc.  Even though she worked there for only a short time her employers had nothing but compliments and praise for a job well done.

She accepted Jesus as her personal Savior early in her life and we have comfort in the fact that she is with the Lord.  Her favorite scripture Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” was what she lived by.

Left to celebrate her life are her parents, brother Eric L. Miller, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers.

We will miss her smile and sparkling personality.
