MONTEREY BAY—Connected in Pride 2.0, a free virtual Pride celebration hosted by Monterey and Santa Cruz counties’ leading LGBTQ+ organizations, will take place on July 24th via various virtual platforms.

Participating groups include Pajaro Valley Pride, Monterey Peninsula Pride, Salinas Valley Pride and Santa Cruz Pride.

Despite Covid-19 restrictions loosening, the organizations have decided to once again host a virtual Pride that will allow participants to safely reconnect our LGBTQ+ communities.

Similar to last year’s virtual Pride collaboration, this year’s event will also feature a series of live and recorded programs to celebrate the history, intersectionality, and shared connection within the LGBTQ+ community.

“Having Pride events is important for us to find a community and to celebrate our culture, while building confidence as well as allies,” the event’s marketing and communications team stated in a press release. “We look forward to bringing more in person and hybrid events in 2021, the Connected in Pride 2.0 kicks things off with a virtual event!”
