WATSONVILLE — The Monterey Bay Area got a good soaking Monday, and more rain is in store, according to the National Weather Service.
“What we’re getting is the classic winter storm, which we have not seen much of lately,” said Steve Anderson of the National Weather Service of Monterey. “The rain that we’re getting is too little and too late in the season.”
Anderson said there will be a “little break” today from the rain with a high near 60 degrees with sunny conditions. Wednesday will also be sunny, with a high near 59.
“There will be another round of heavier rain Thursday, which will carry through into Friday with scattered showers,” Anderson said.
Anderson added that things will start drying up into the weekend with a possibility of a few lingering showers into Saturday.
Overnight lows will continue to be in the 30s over the week.
Anderson said rainfall Thursday and Friday could be in “the one- to two-inch range.”
