Neighborhoods throughout the City of Watsonville joined forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the 35th annual crime and drug prevention event. The Parks and Community Services Department Neighborhood Services Division and the Watsonville Police Department sponsored the city’s 20th year of neighborhood unity against crime. About 37.1 million people nationally participated in the event that commonly includes barbecues, games raffles and family-oriented activities. The goals are to increase crime and drug prevention awareness, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships.
