>> Watsonville High alumnus Chris Rivera last week was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Preseason All-American third team. Now a junior at Long Beach State, Rivera has served as a dominant closer for the Dirtbags, recording 26 saves over the past two seasons — second most in program history. He was also listed as a Top 20 2018 Draft Prospect in the Big West Conference by Baseball America.
