Nicolasa M. Toledo, a long-time resident of Watsonville, died at Watsonville Nursing Center on Monday, March 5, 2018. She was 89.

Mrs. Toledo was born to Jose Marines and Lucina Martinez in Mexico on May 2, 1928. She met her husband Jesus Toledo in Mexico and they were married for 56 years. She was a resident of Watsonville for 45 years and worked as a line worker at Watsonville Canning Company for 27 years. After she retired, she became a homemaker who loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking traditional, Mexican food dishes for her loved ones.

Mrs. Toledo was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Toledo. She is survived by seven adult children, 17 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Mehl’s Colonial Chapel on Monday, March 12 from 5-9 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at Assumption Church on Tuesday, March 13 at 10 a.m. with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery. Mehl’s Colonial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
