Lifelong resident of Watsonville, Nina F. Matulich, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017. She was 93.
Ms. Matulich was born in Watsonville to Anton and Louise Matulich on September 6, 1923.  She graduated from Watsonville High School in the class of 1941. After graduation, she worked during World War II at Fort Ord in the Rail Transportation Office. Ms. Matulich had a long career at Watsonville Federal Savings and Loan for 45 years and became the Assistant Secretary Treasurer.
Ms. Matulich was active in several organizations. She was a member of the Y.L.I., the Pajaro Valley Historical Society, Ag History Project, S.A.C.O. and the Soroptimists. She attended St. Patrick’s Church until her health would no longer allow.
Ms. Matulich is survived by her sister, Fran (Jack) Osorio of Watsonville; niece, Michelle Osorio of Watsonville; two grandnieces, Ashley Shouse and Stephanie Peckham, both of Arizona; a great-grandniece, Ryan Shouse and great-grandnephew, Landon Shouse. She also has family in Croatia including the Island of Brac, New Zealand and Australia.
A private memorial mass will take place on a later date. Donations can be made in Ms. Matulich’s memory to the American Heart Association, PO Box 742030 Los Angeles, CA 90074-2030 or to a charity of your choice. Mehl’s Colonial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
