Nora V. Uribe died peacefully surrounded by her family in Watsonville on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018.

She was born in Sinton, Texas and came to California. She graduated from Watsonville High School in 1962. She was tiny, mighty and feisty. She enjoyed camping, going to casinos, visiting with family. She visited with her sister Mary Ellen almost daily for years. Her grandkids were her enjoyment and she spoiled them. She and her husband hosted many family parties and were known for their New Year’s parties in their neighborhood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Toribio Uribe; her son, Anthony Uribe; her parents, Alfonso and Maria Villanueva; and her siblings, Minnie Ramirez, Ruben Villanueva Sr., Lydia Wilhite.

She is survived by her children, Laura, Alfonso Aguirre, Michael, Sandy Delgadillo, Toribio Uribe Jr.; her siblings, Mary Ellen (Robert) Rodriguez, Ray (Hilda) Villanueva and Alice (Lazaro) Sanchez; and her 11 grandchildren.

Visitation services will be held on Sunday, Dec. 16 from 5-9 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 17 at 10 a.m. at Assumption Church with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
