STEET ART A large crowd checks out the latest exhibit at the by PV Arts at their Sudden Street gallery Saturday, “Off the Streets.” The celebration featured food trucks, music, art activities and an arena to meet the artists and view their work. Curated by Bianca Jimenez, the show spotlighted 22 artists in a wide range of mediums. Future events include an artist talk by Nessa Ledesma, Taylor Reinhold (Tay Lion) and Melissa Marzan on Aug. 31. Also upcoming is a skateboard design workshop led by Nessa Ledesma where the public is invited to design their own skateboards using stencils, permanent markers, and paint on Sept. 21 at 37 Sudden St. in Watsonville. Tarmo Hannula has been the lead photographer with The Pajaronian newspaper in Watsonville since 1997. More recently Good Times & Press Banner. He also reports on a wide range of topics, including police, fire, environment, schools, the arts and events. A fifth generation Californian, Tarmo was born in the Mother Lode of the Sierra (Columbia) and has lived in Santa Cruz County since the late 1970s. He earned a BA from UC Santa Cruz and has traveled to 33 countries.
