WATSONVILLE — City officials will present the latest in Watsonville when the State of the City address returns for its second year on Wednesday.
City Manager Charles Montoya, Mayor Oscar Rios, Assistant City Manager Matt Huffaker and Police Chief David Honda will outline what has been happening in the city over the past year, while also discussing future projects.
The State of the City made its debut in 2016 to a full Watsonville City Council Chambers, where officials discussed such things as housing and commercial developments, Watsonville’s crime rate and more.
The event is put on by the City of Watsonville and Pajaro Valley Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture.
Chamber President/CEO Shaz Roth said officials hope residents attend the annual event to receive information about “the progress that has been made in the past year as well as upcoming developments.”
“The City of Watsonville is in the midst of significant growth and improvement and we feel it’s important to communicate this to the community,” she said.
The free event will be held Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 275 Main St., fourth floor. A reception will follow in the adjacent Community Room.
