CORRALITOS — The man and woman that died in a solo-vehicle crash Saturday in Corralitos have been identified as Kristofer Capurro, 64, and Oxziana Rosales, 23.

Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Ashley Keehn said they were both from Watsonville.

California Highway Patrol officer Julieta Trenado said the pair was traveling southbound on Eureka Canyon Road at 3:15 p.m. south of Geronimo Way.

For unknown reasons the convertible Corvette shot off the pavement on the right shoulder of the curvy road and collided with a massive redwood tree. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Cal Fire at Corralitos and Pajaro Valley Fire were joined by American Medical Response and the CHP at the scene.

The crash took place less than a mile east of the popular Corralitos Market and Sausage Company at the corner of Hames Road.

Trenado said both victims were wearing four-point, harness style seat belts.

The incident is still under investigation.
