WATSONVILLE — Pajaro Valley Pride’s second annual Pride Festival will take place at Watsonville Plaza, 358 Main St., Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sponsored by the First Christian Church, this family-friendly event will feature live entertainment, a parade, more than 40 booths with vendors and organizations, DJs, and a kids’ zone. Admission is free.

An opening ceremony will be followed by a speech from Isa Moreno, this year’s recipient of PV Pride’s educational scholarship.

Throughout the day, segments of “Out in Santa Cruz,” PV Pride’s radio show that airs Saturday nights on KSCO, will be played, which, according the organizers, will add a touch of activism to the festivities.

Grand Marshal of the parade Lesley-Reid Harrison will make an appearance when the parade kicks off at 11:30 a.m. Harrison has been active in Pajaro Valley’s LGBT+ community and currently serves on the PV Pride Committee.

An 18-plus after-party event is planned for the evening at the Appleton Grill at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
