Pauline Mendoza Arispe Varela died peacefully at home surrounded by her family in Watsonville on Monday, Oct. 1, 2018. She was 95.
She was born in Phoenix, Ariz. on July 21, 1923 to Antonia and Pablo Mendoza. She was their first born and their last one to pass away.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Arispe Jr. (Anna) of Watsonville; daughter, Gloria Carbajal (Joe) of Hemet; and seven grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Varela; oldest daughter, Peggy Arispe Avalos; her parents Antonia and Pablo Mendoza; and her four brothers and four sisters.
