Peggy Edsall passed away on Wednesday, April 4 at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Checotoh, Oklahoma to James & Velma Brown. Peggy was the eldest of seven children.
She moved to Santa Cruz County in 1936 and remained throughout her life. Peggy attended Aptos Elementary and graduated from Watsonville High School. Peggy was in the 4H club and was a Cub Scout leader. She has been a resident of La Selva Beach since 1955.
Peggy married George Edsall in 1948 and spent 61 wonderful years together before he passed in 2009. She worked briefly for Montgomery Wards and spent 24 years in Mountain View working for GTE government systems. Peggy and George spent their retirement years traveling all over the United States visiting historical sites and bowling in national tournaments, they also enjoyed square dancing.
Other trips Peggy made included Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand and Egypt where she climbed a pyramid and sailed the Nile river. Peggy was also an avid gardener.
Peggy is survived by three children, a son, George Oliver “Jody” (Jeanne) Edsall Jr. of Santa Cruz and two daughters, Terry Sandlin and Joyce (Dave) LaRue both of Watsonville, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Delores Meek, and two brothers, Barry & Milton Brown.
Graveside services are planned for Friday July 6, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Oakwood Memorial Park 3301 Paul Sweet Road Santa Cruz, CA 95065 reception to follow.
