Person killed in early-morning, head-on collision

ROYAL OAKS — A person was killed early Thursday morning in a head-on collision on San Juan Road that sent another person to a trauma center in critical condition.

The collision occurred at about 5:45 a.m. at 1124 San Juan Road when one of the vehicles went to pass another vehicle, said North County Fire Protection District Captain Hector Ramirez.

One of the vehicles burst into flames in the collision.

No other information was available Thursday.
