Emergency officials check on a VW Golf that ended up on a Main Street sidewalk Friday following a two-vehicle crash. Watsonville Police said a male driver of the VW was attempting to enter Main Street from the Tamal Factory parking lot at 12:30 p.m. on the 600 block of Main Street when he traveled into the path of a Ford pickup. The pickup, traveling southbound on Main Street, plowed into the driver’s side of the VW, shoving it onto the sidewalk in front of Chase Bank. The VW also clipped a street sign, which smashed into the left front fender of a parked Honda Accord. The VW driver suffered minor to moderate injuries.
