Students prepare Tuesday in preparation for the for the 18th annual Cultura Caliente Dance Showcase May 6 at the Mello Center. Hosted by Watsonville High Dance, the event includes performances by Dance Center, Lakeview Middle School Folkloric Group, Cirque Tumble Cheer, Estrellas De Esperanza, WHS Dance and others. “High school is just the beginning of the journey,” said Stephanie Locke, advisor for WHS Dance Club. “A scholarship could be a valuable vote of confidence to help a student stay connected and move upwards on their journey.” Pajaro Valley Unified School District Extended Learning Program supports district performing arts and other art-related programs. The event, which serves as a scholarship benefit, takes place at 7pm at the Mello Center, 250 E. Beach St. For information, call 728.6390, extension 6370.
