A Watsonville firefighter attacks flames in a garage fire Tuesday on Ford Street. Capt. Corey Schaefer said the fire was limited to an outbuilding on the 200 block of Ford Street. A huge column of black smoke was visible throughout the downtown area from the 2:10 p.m. incident. Schaefer said there were no injuries. The Red Cross was called in to help with those displaced by the fire. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
