NIGHT BLAZE Firefighters from around the Pajaro Valley stage a battle against a fire that erupted in a single-story home on the 100 block of DeLaney Road in Watsonville Saturday night. The fire was reported just after 9pm after several callers reported two loud explosions, flames and heavy smoke. Cal Fire Battalion Chief and Incident Commander Sam Filson said no injuries were reported, and that firefighters got a quick knock-down on the blaze. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Watsonville Fire joined Cal Fire and Pajaro Valley Fire in the incident, along with Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies. A DeLaney Road resident said he had just gone to bed when he heard two explosions and then saw flames down the street.
