WATSONVILLE—A Watsonville woman is in custody on multiple charges of burglary and attempted burglary at residences and businesses throughout Watsonville.

Her crime spree came to a halt early Sunday when she was interrupted by Watsonville Police after they spotted her attempting to break into a donut shop near La Princesa Market in the Town & Country Center on Main Street

Ariana Diaz, 26, is now facing more than half a dozen charges, mostly from the area of Main Street and East Lake Avenue, Michelle Pulido, Watsonville Police spokeswoman said.

As officers were interviewing Diaz, she admitted to the additional burglaries of Watsonville businesses and residences. Video surveillance obtained by detectives linked her to at least eight burglaries in a three-day span.

Diaz was arrested and booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on a $25,000 bail.
