APTOS — Cabrillo College officials closed the Aptos location Friday after a campus-wide power outage, Cabrillo spokeswoman Kristin Fabos said.

According to PG&E spokeswoman Mayra Tostado, about 3,500 customers in Aptos lost power at 12:16 a.m., but were restored two minutes later.

The power went out again at 5:56 a.m. and was fully restored by 9:02 a.m., Tostado said.

The cause of the outage is under investigation, Tostado said.

According to Fabos, about 2,500 students and all instructors were told not to come to class. Facilities, IT and managers reported to work as usual, Fabos said.

Fridays are typically light days at Cabrillo, with only a handful of classes.

The Watsonville campus was not affected by the closure.
