Powerful electrical storm plows through

An electrical transformer was blown to shreds by a lightning strike Monday afternoon on Holly Drive in Watsonville that forced emergency officials to shut the road down. Meanwhile, another lightning strike knocked out power lines on Grant Street and Marchant Street following a violent thunderstorm that rocked the region.
