WATSONVILLE—Watsonville police on Monday arrested a woman on prostitution charges after a man who solicited her services called 911. That call came after the woman’s associate pulled a gun on the victim when he refused to pay the agreed price.

Tianna Mitchell, 19, was arrested on prostitution charges and conspiracy to commit a crime. Jose Aranda, 23, was arrested on several gun charges.

According to the Watsonville Police Department, officers were called to a motel on the 100 block of Silver Leaf Drive at about 1 a.m., where they contacted the 23-year-old victim.

Both suspects are from the Sacramento area. They told police they were staying at the motel while they sheltered in place.

Investigators say the man solicited sexual services online, but refused to pay Mitchell when he arrived at the motel.

Mitchell then stepped outside to make a phone call, and soon Aranda arrived and pulled a gun. During the investigation, officers recovered two loaded firearms.

The Santa Cruz County District Attorney’s Office will decide if the victim will face charges.
