1946-2018

Richard Robert “Bob” Eustice Jr. passed away April 17, 2018 in Moss Landing.

He was born in Watsonville in 1946, where he attended local schools and graduated from Watsonville High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, and spent three years serving in Germany.

Known for his carpentry skills, Bob spent many years working in construction.

His passions in life were outside: driving his tractors or heading to the ocean to fish. He spent countless hours at the family ranch on his John Deere, “wearing out the dirt,” as his wife Judy described. He loved discing the land or mowing down the season’s weeds.

Later in life, in his quest for the next Big One, he spent several months a year in Baja, Mexico, where he built his own home to stay during visits. He also loved salmon fishing out of Moss Landing, which is where he launched his beloved boat for the last time.

Bob is remembered by his wife, Judy Eustice; daughter, Rhonda Eustice; grandchildren Devon Eustice-Yarborough and Jeffrey Eustice; great-grandchild Levi Yarborough, of Texas, along with brother Chris (Judie) Nielsen; and niece Brittany (Ryan) Laughton of Watsonville. He is preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Nielsen and father, Richard Robert Eustice, sisters Roberta and Carolyn, and baby Eustice.

A memorial service will be held at the Pajaro Village Clubhouse, 739 Bronte Ave, Watsonville, from 11:00am-1:00pm Tuesday, May 8th. Mehl’s Colonial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Monterey Bay Salmon and Trout Project, 243 Ranchitos Del Sol, Aptos, CA 95003, or at MBSTP.org.
