A construction worker of O’Grady Paving chisels loose a section of asphalt road surface Thursday on Breve Avenue in La Selva Beach as part of a major road improvement project around La Selva Beach under funding from Measure D. On top of sporadic road patching, the job also calls for entirely new road surfaces for several streets in La Selva Beach. The work menu includes upgrades on Playa Boulevard, Arbolado Vista, Plama drives, and, Estrella and Breve avenues. Santa Cruz County Director of Public Works Matt Machado said Playa Boulevard, Estrella Avenue and Loma Avenue will be intermittently closed to through traffic between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Tuesday. Expect up to 15-minute delays during construction.
