ROYAL OAKS — Rosalia R. Gaspar died peacefully surrounded by her family at her residence in Royal Oaks on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. She was 102.

Mrs. Gaspar was born on Sept. 14, 1914 in Pance, Ramos Tarlac Philippines. She loved to cook, play softball in her younger years and was a member of the Filipino Community of Watsonville. Most of all her life was devoted to her family and their happiness. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren who meant the world to her. She loved holidays and get-togethers. She would spend hours cooking and preparing.

Mrs. Gaspar was preceded in death by her husband, Simon Gaspar Sr.; her children, Rodrigo Gaspar, Rita Limos, Quintin Gaspar, Henry Gaspar, Simon Gaspar Jr. and Romeo Gaspar, all from the Philippines. She is survived by her daughters, Isabel Espiritu and Veronica Balmores; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation services will be held on Sunday, May 7 from 5-9 p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 8 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church with burial to follow at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park, 127 Hecker Pass Road, Watsonville.
