SANTA CRUZ COUNTY—Santa Cruz Gives, an annual holiday fundraising campaign organized by Good Times (GT) and the Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz County (VSCC), is accepting donations through midnight Dec. 31.

Choose from 40 local nonprofit organizations to donate to at santacruzgives.org. Each nonprofit has a featured page with an overview of what it does and it’s goals for 2021.

So far, the campaign has raised almost $636,320, a vast improvement on last year’s total.

“We weren’t sure how things would go this year,” said organizer Jeanne Howard. “With the pandemic and lots of people out of work, we were concerned we’d only raise half of last year. It’s amazing, really… The community really stepped up.”

Howard said that Dec. 31 tends to be the campaign’s biggest donation day. Nonprofits will start up one final push for donors, reaching out to the community through social media.

GT and VSCC received support for Santa Cruz Gives from The Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County, The Joe Collins Fund, The Applewood Fund, Santa Cruz County Bank, Wynn Capital Management, Oswald Restaurant, The Pajaronian, Press Banner and Swenson Builders.
