SANTA CRUZ — Santa Cruz Police are looking for a man who reportedly tried to lure a 14-year-old girl into his car on the west side of Santa Cruz on Friday afternoon as she walked home from school.

According to SCPD spokeswoman Joyce Blaschke, the girl was walking in the intersection of Bay and King streets when an unknown man approached her and motioned for her to get in his vehicle.

The victim walked away from the suspect, who circled the block and asked the victim to get inside his vehicle again. The suspect continued to follow the juvenile to the 100 block of Kenneth Street.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 18-25 years old, average height, with a slightly thicker build wearing a white T-shirt. The suspect possibly had a tattoo on his lower left arm and spoke in clear, unaccented English.

The suspect vehicle is described as a silver or champagne four-door Nissan Altima.
