SANTA CRUZ COUNTY—An Aptos man has been arrested after a Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team (SET) serving a search warrant found more than 12 pounds of heroin, 1 pound of methamphetamine and a loaded handgun in his residence.
The arrest came after an investigation lasting several months. The drugs are valued at roughly $450,000, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Ashley Keehn said.
Mario Villasenor was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on felony narcotics trafficking and sales related charges. He was not in custody Tuesday, jail records showed.
The SET also arrested convicted felon Christopher Singer, who was found to have 17 firearms along with thousands of rounds of ammunition and equipment to make suppressors. He was arrested on felony weapons-related charges.
