The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office will hold a Gun Buy Back Oct. 18, an opportunity for the public to cash in unwanted guns in a “no questions asked” setting.

They will hand out $50 for rifles, $100 for handguns, and $200 for assault rifles. The event will be held at 5200 Soquel Ave from 9am-1pm.

All firearms must be unloaded and brought in a secure container.

  1. GREAT! turn in your Glock pistols now that Newsom has signed legislation that makes any new Glock that can be converted to semi automatic status ILLEGAL. we have more guns than people in this nation. and the leading cause of death among kids under 18 is gunfire. so, pull your heads out of your butts and turn in your guns and get some money. and piss off the NRA, trump dump, pissy pants vance and the rest of his clown circus cabinet!!!

  2. Where is the money coming from to buy used guns from the public. Hopefully my hard-earned tax dollars aren’t used for that purpose. Not sure how a gun buyback makes the streets any safer. I don’t think the 16-year-old gun toting gang banger is going to surrender his illegal gun. It’s a feel-good maneuver…
