Sheriff’s Office seeks info on Hwy 129 crash

WATSONVILLE—The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help from the public in gaining information about a vehicle crash early Tuesday on the outskirts of Watsonville.

Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Ashley Keehn in a Facebook post said that sometime between 4-6am there was a solo-vehicle crash on Highway 129 and Carlton Road.

“Due to circumstances surrounding the crash, we are looking for any witnesses that may have been in the area at that time,” the post read.

Of interest is a maroon Honda Accord involved in the crash that happened just south of where Carlton Road connects to Highway 129.

“We believe there was at least one person nearby on a bike at the time, and investigators are hoping to speak with that individual or anyone else who witnessed the crash,” Keehn said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Detective Sgt. Robbins at 831-454-7635.
