Watsonville firefighters and police deal with a three-vehicle crash on Main Street just south of Ohlone Parkway Tuesday afternoon. Traffic officer Sjon Tol said Santos Padilla Almeida, 32, was traveling north on Main Street just after 5 p.m. in a Honda Civic, allegedly at a high speed. At one point he lost control and smashed into the rear end of a northbound Cadillac with a male driver. The Cadillac then bashed into a Chevy Impala with a female driver and a young girl aboard. Only minor bumps and abrasions were reported. Following a field sobriety test by WPD, Almeida was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a valid driver’s license and being in possession of a controlled substance, police said.
