CCS Golf Championships, 2018: Tran’s stellar season ends in section championships
Tran this season led M.V.C. to a Monterey Bay League Pacific division championship and was also named the division’s Most Valuable Player after carding a league-best 73 at the MBL Championships, which also took place at the Laguna Seca Golf Ranch.
CCCAA Beach Volleyball: Cabrillo captures first state team title
The Seahawks knocked off the defending California Community College Athletic Association champion MiraCosta College, 3-0, on May 10 at West Valley College to become the first team from Northern California to win the state beach volleyball championship.

Boys CCS Volleyball: Aptos falls in D-II final
The top-seeded Mariners came up short of winning the program’s first-ever Central Coast Section championship, falling to No. 2 Branham High, 26-24, 25-14, 29-27 in the Division II final at St. Francis-Mountain View.
CCS Baseball: St. Francis top seed in D-III
The Sharks (18-7), second-place finishers in the SCCAL, earned the top seed in the division and will play No. 8 Pinewood High (12-3) in the quarterfinals at a time and site still to be determined.
CCS Softball: Watsonville receives No. 3 seed in Open; Aptos hits road in 1st round
The Wildcatz received the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Central Coast Section Open Division playoffs and will be off until Saturday’s quarterfinal round.
MBL Masters Meet: Watsonville's Ruiz, Salazar advance to CCS in multiple events
Salazar, a senior, took first in the 800-meters with a time of 2 minutes, 19.99 seconds, and Ruiz, a freshman, placed first in the 3,200 in 11:45.66.
