Watsonville High softball regrouped from its slump with a pair of Monterey Bay League Gabilan division wins over Gilroy High and Notre Dame-Salinas on Thursday and Friday, respectively.

MBL Golf Championships, 2018: Tran, Yang lead M.V.C. to Pacific title

Tran earned overall medalist honors, beating golfers from both the Pacific and Gabilan divisions, by firing a two-over par 73 through the windy and cloudy conditions. Yang followed with a 79, and the Mustangs finished off their MBL-P season as champions.

The Aptos High Mariners saw their superb season come to a close on Wednesday evening via a 7-0 loss to St. Ignatius in the first round of the Central Coast Section team tournament at the Seascape Sports Club in Aptos.

The Watsonville High Wildcatz followed through on a gift from Christopher High on Thursday evening by beating Salinas High, 5-0, at the Salinas Sports Complex to earn a share of the Monterey Bay League Gabilan division title.

Little League Roundup, 5/11: Padres secure pair of wins in Majors; Acosta-Romero tosses 2-hitter

Trey Silva clubbed a pair of doubles and had two RBIs for the Angels. Edgar Ramirez, Brianna Leon and Elias Siegal each hit a pair of singles. Ramirez also had two RBIs, while Chase Dicey and Anthony Smith doubled.
