St. Francis junior Keon Barcinas-Hill recorded a pair of touchdowns in the Sharks’ 43-2 non-league win over Greenfield on Saturday afternoon.
Teammate Gabe Santos blocked a punt attempt, while Colton Stevens recorded an interception for St. Francis.
“Just contributions from everyone, even the guys not playing,” St. Francis head coach John Ausman said. “It’s a hot day, hydration is key. Everyone had a job and everyone did their job. It’s fun to watch when that happens.”
Joseph Dayritt, a senior, scored the game’s opening touchdown, while quarterbacks Noah Magana and Max Madrigal each scored once for the Sharks.
“They’ve both been doing a great job, and there’s no downside,” said Ausman about splitting play time between Magana and Madrigal. “When one or the other comes out, they each play their own unique way at quarterback. They’re both executing at a high level.”

Piedmont Hills 28, at Monte Vista Christian 27: The Mustangs fell short of a hard-fought comeback against the Pirates in non-play Friday evening.
After trailing 28-7 in the third quarter, MVC junior Jordan Ramirez hauled in a 13-yard touchdown that brought them to within one point with 38 seconds remaining in the game.
However, the Mustangs had a botched snap on the extra point try. They attempted a pass into the end zone, but the ball fell short for an incompletion.
“I don’t want to justify failure, we lost,” MVC head coach Spencer Ferrari-Wood said. “Moral victories don’t exist for me, but I’m really proud of the way we played. I thought we battled hard.”
The Mustangs had just 25 players available to suit up, including Ramirez who caught a team-best 12 receptions for 78 yards.
Junior quarterback Evan Vessey completed 23-of-36 pass attempts for 234 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while teammate Maximo Arce had 58 passing yards and 65 rushing yards.
Reece Walker recorded his first varsity rushing touchdown, scoring from four yards out to give MVC a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter.
Teammate senior Boston Ashe had five receptions for 100 receiving yards, including a 31-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter.
Johnny Finney, a junior, finished with 61 receiving yards on seven receptions, while senior Enzo Owns was successful scoring on a two-point try in the third quarter.
On defense, junior defensive back Parker Brown scooped a backwards pass that resulted in a fumble, and ended up returning it 15 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter.
Ashe recorded three tackles and one interception, while Iegor Moskalenko and James Hanzlik each finished with four tackles. Colton Salsbery and Thomas Beck each recorded a half-sack.
Ferrari-Wood said it would have been easy for his players to throw in the towel after they trailed by three scores. Yet, they managed to scratch and claw their way back into the game.
“Guys started believing we were going to win, and we had some chances,” Ferrar-Wood said. “I think very few times in my coaching career I’ve been this proud of a team after a loss, just really pleased with how they played.”
