St. Francis senior Nash Horton was named the Pacific Coast Athletic League Cypress Division’s Most Valuable Player for the 2024-25 winter season. After missing one year on the court, the standout Sharks guard returned to score an average of 21.1 points per game and recorded 19 double-doubles. 

Horton’s most incredible statline came when he recorded a quadruple-double during an 84-63 win over Pajaro Valley on Dec. 23. He finished with 29 points, 18 rebounds, 12 steals and 10 assists. 

Horton and teammate junior Robert Gomez Jr. each earned all-league first team honors. Gomez Jr. had an average of 16.4 points per game for St. Francis, which captured the Cypress Division crown after finishing 12-0 in league play.

Watsonville senior Max Aceves was selected as the PCAL Mission Division’s Guard of the Year by the coaches within the league. Aceves also earned all-league first team honors alongside teammate junior Leon Madec, who both helped lead the Wildcatz to a league co-championship this season. Pajaro Valley senior Carlos Escobar earned Santa Lucia Division all-league first team honors.
