Susan B. Ochoa died peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019. She was 63.

She was born to Jimmie and Erica Combs on May 10, 1955. She was a Watsonville native, born and raised.

She opened her heart and home to many children in need over the years. Her gift was being open-minded and accepting to the children in her care, honoring them for who they were. She nurtured them with unconditional love.

She also enjoyed nature, old movies, and her pets.

She is survived by her sister, Renee Smith (Rick Smith); her brother, Eric Combs; her son, Joseph Ochoa; and many nieces and nephews in addition to being a loving mother figure to many others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie and Erica Combs; and her brother, Dennis Combs.

At her request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Santa Cruz SPCA (2685 Chanticleer Ave., Santa Cruz, CA 95062).

Mehl’s Colonial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
