SANTA CRUZ—A Santa Cruz man was arrested Aug. 21 on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale at a home on the 500 block of Park Way.

George Rivera, commander of the Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team, said Elijah Phoenix Francis, 21, was taken into custody and charged with possession of methamphetamine for sale. The arrest ended a three-month investigation of narcotics sales from the residence. 

Santa Cruz Police Department’s Neighborhood Policing Team, detectives and a K-9 named Parker assisted SCCACT is serving a search warrant. Officers seized a pound of Xanax pills with a street value of nearly $7,000, 15 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of $1,200 and evidence of narcotic sales (packaging, digital scales), Rivera said.
