A man was arrested Feb. 21 for stealing thousands of dollars worth of electronic equipment from Bradley Elementary School.
Travis Clarke, 33, was charged with burglary, possession of a controlled substance and a probation violation. He was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail, jail records showed.
According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, Clarke broke into a kindergarten classroom sometime over the weekend of Feb. 17 or 18 and stole several iPads, chrome-books, laptops and keyboards.
Sheriff’s Deputy German Fernandez took on the case and reviewed security camera footage from the area that showed the suspect on campus. Shortly after, Deputy Casandra Galloti identified the suspect as Clarke, who was already on probation for burglary with search terms. Deputies contacted and arrested Clarke at his residence where they found the stolen property, and returned it to the school.
“Thanks to the quick, thorough work of our deputies the equipment was found and the suspect arrested,” the Sheriff’s Office stated in a press release.
