Thelma Jeanne Rout died on June 30 peacefully surrounded by her family in Tracy. She was 89.

Mrs. Rout was born on June 8, 1930 in Texas to her parents Cecile Phrozenia Roberds and Denzil Henry Roberds. She was a caring and compassionate lady known to others as a kind soul. She was passionate about many things in life. She loved spending time in her rose garden. She was an avid book reader. She was skilled in the art of quilting as she won many first-place ribbons for her quilts in the Santa Clara County Fair.

She was very adventurous and loved taking trips RVing with her husband. She will be loved and missed by those who knew her. She was a resident of Watsonville.

She is survived by her children, Denzil Clark Rout and Cynthia Jeanne Rout; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Clarence Rout; and her son Gregory Allen Rout.

A Funeral Service will be held July 11 at 11 a.m. at Ave Maria Memorial Chapel located at 609 Main St. in Watsonville.
