END OVER END Tow operators from Chaz Towing work on a plan to haul a GMC Sierra pickup out of Corralitos Creek on July 17. The California Highway Patrol said a Watsonville man was driving eastbound on East Lake Avenue just south of Holohan Road around 2:30pm when he lost control. The early 2000s model pickup veered off the road, blew through road sign and flipped end over end down the Corralitos Creek levee and landed on its roof. That’s when the driver got out and took off on foot along College Road. Thanks to witnesses, the CHP managed to catch up with the man, who has not been named, and arrest him on suspicion of DUI. No injuries were reported. The truck sustained major damage. The incident is still under investigation.
