Watsonville police arrest three over 10 days for child sex crimes

WATSONVILLE—Watsonville police arrested three people over a 10-day period on suspicion of committing sex crimes against children.

Daniel Alanis, 39, was arrested Dec. 2 in Salinas and charged with committing lewd and lascivious acts against a child under 14. He was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail, jail records showed.

Armando Venegas, 26, was arrested Dec. 1 in Capitola for lewd and lascivious acts against a child under 14. He was not in custody Dec. 3.

Arthur Decaney, a registered sex offender from Watsonville who had been released from jail on a pending sexual battery case, was arrested on Nov. 23 for exposing himself to a teen girl five days earlier. He is being held without bail, jail records showed.
