The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in finding the driver of a pickup involved in a rollover crash Saturday in Las Lomas that left a Royal Oaks man dead.
CHP officer Saul Perez said the victim was a passenger in a red Toyota pickup with an unknown driver traveling southbound on Hudson Landing Road south of Wells Road.
At around 2:45 p.m. the Toyota veered off the pavement, slammed into a utility pole, overturned and ejected the victim from the truck.
The driver fled the scene, Perez said.
Eder Iván Contreras Morales, known as “Chato,’ was 20, according to his family in a GoFundMe post.

He was thrown from the truck and pronounced dead at the scene.
Anyone with information is asked to call the CHP at 831.770.8000 or their 24-hour line, at 831.796.2160.
