Emergency officials deal with a crash on Pajaro Circle Monday where a man driving an SUV hit a woman carrying a 1-year-old child after she reportedly stepped out from between parked cars while carrying the child. California Highway Patrol officer Craig Geddes said the woman, who was around 65 years old, stepped into Pajaro Circle around 12:20 p.m. A passing Jeep Compass clipped the woman and child with the passenger-side rear view mirror, knocking the pair to the ground. The woman was taken to Natividad Medical Center with major injuries and the child was taken to Watsonville Community Hospital with minor injuries. The incident is still under investigation.
