PRUNEDALE — Two vehicles were struck by gunfire Saturday morning while traveling on Highway 101.

Jessica Madueño, Public Information Officer with the California Highway Patrol, said a white Volvo wagon with one person aboard was hit by a bullet just after 7 a.m. south of San Miguel Canyon Road.

A second vehicle was also struck, a silver BMW occupied by one person in the same area a short time after the first incident.

The driver of the Volvo stopped on San Miguel Canyon Road and waited for CHP arrival, Madueño said. Bullet holes were discovered on the BMW and the Volvo.

Both vehicles were processed for evidence.

There were no injuries reported.

Currently, there is no suspect information, Madueño said.  The CHP is the lead investigating agency.

Anyone with information regarding the incidents is asked to call the CHP at (831) 796-2160.
