Ada Neu, Aptos, (So.): The ace pitcher was a pleasant surprise for the coaching staff as last year’s incoming freshman took command of the pitcher’s circle since her arrival to camp.

Neu was 9-6 overall — 7-2 in league — in 19 appearances in the circle and finished with a 3.15 ERA. She recorded 151 strikeouts and allowed 44 walks. She was one of five Mariners named to the SCCAL First Team for her work.

Aptos finished with an overall record of 16-10 and was runner-up in the SCCAL (9-3) to San Lorenzo Valley (13-3, 11-1). Neu also helped the Mariners reach the CCS Division II semifinals for the first time since 1999.
