St. Francis exploded for 21 points in the fourth quarter to rally past host Pacific Grove for a 54-44 win in Pacific Coast Athletic League Mission division action on Wednesday night.
E.J. Kelly paced the Sharks (12-3, 2-1) with 16 points, six rebounds and three assists. Andrew Seymour flirted with a double-double, finishing with 10 points and nine rebounds.
C.J. Gomez (14 points) and Jake Taylor (12) also scored in double figures for St. Francis, which travels to Alvarez tonight at 7 p.m.
In other boys’ basketball action from Jan. 17-23:
• At Alisal 65, MVC 16 – The Mustangs fell behind 22-4 in the first quarter and never recovered in a PCAL-Gabilan loss on Wednesday.
M.V.C. (5-11, 0-3) plays at Carmel tonight at 7 p.m.
• At Oakwood 52, Watsonville 44 – Lucas Ruiz had 13 points in the Wildcatz’s first PCAL-Santa Lucia setback.
Watsonville (12-5, 2-1) will look to bounce back at home tonight against King City at 7 p.m.
• Aptos 46, at Scotts Valley 31 – Joseph Moreno finished with 16 points, three rebounds and three steals in Tuesday night’s Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League win.
Hunter Matys added 11 points, six rebounds and three steals for Aptos (11-10, 5-2).
The Mariners play at Soquel tonight at 7 p.m.
• At Pajaro Valley 67, North Salinas 52 – Justin Rodriguez poured in 24 points with five 3-pointers in the Grizzlies’ PCAL-Cypress win on Tuesday.
Christian Quintero had 21 points, seven rebounds, seven steals and four assists. Brian Chavez chipped in 14 points, five rebounds and three steals, and Carlos Rodriguez pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds.
• NMC 65, at Gilroy 57 (OT) – Dulian Morelos scored 23 points, Isaiah Solorio added 13 and the Condors pulled off a dramatic comeback in overtime on Tuesday in PCAL-Cypress action.
Brandon Ducusin added 11 points for the Condors.
• At Watsonville 64, Marina 43 – Lucas Ruiz had 14 points and Daniel Knight finished with 10 in the Wildcatz’s PCAL-Santa Lucia win on Jan. 18.
• At NMC 58, Pajaro Valley 52 – Christian Quintero had 30 points, nine rebounds, three assists and three steals in the Grizzlies PCAL-Cypress loss on Jan. 18.
Bryan Gallardo chipped in 12 points for Pajaro Valley.
• San Benito 59, at St. Francis 58 – The Haybalers tipped in a missed shot with one second left to stun the Sharks in PCAL-Mission action on Jan. 18.
Andrew Seymour had 17 points and five assists for St. Francis, while E.J. Kelly finished with 14 points and four assists.
• At Santa Cruz 61, Aptos 40 – The Mariners dropped their SCCAL battle against the league-leading Cardinals on Jan. 18.
• Pac Point 72, Ceiba 40 – Jarrod Garcia finished with a double-double (17 points, 11 rebounds) in the Spartans’ PCAL-Arroyo loss on Jan. 17.
Jesse Franco added 16 points and six rebounds.
